Who We Are

We are Ellis Events formally known as Costumed Creativity Entertainment. We changed our brand name as we wanted to have a brand that defined more of what we do which is supply you with Event services.

“Hi I’m Liam, I am the owner of Ellis Events. I started this business back in 2020, I got the idea from dressing up in costumes and going to comic cons, I get right into character, change my accent and become one with the characters. I am a very cheerful person and I love making myself and others happy. I thought I could offer myself and my services to make your events better and more memorable and so Ellis events was founded.”

We are a Small Business, founded in Newcastle upon Tyne, this is our area of trading mostly but we try and cover the North east of England. We offer Costumed Characters, Face painting and DJ. We are very limited but ever expanding, we want to be the number one brand you pick for your event.

I worked along side the princes trust enterprise scheme, this helped me learn about running a business and sent me in the right direction to grow.

Biography

Hello, my name is Liam Ellis, I am the founder of Ellis Events. Born in Newcastle upon Tyne in 94, I am the 3rd in line of a total of 6 brothers and a sister. Growing up I was and still am an energetic person, I have always love performance, whether it was pretending a tennis racket was a guitar or just singing to myself.

I was diagnosed with ADHD at a young age and I've always been a physical learner than a mental learner. I would pick Lego blocks over a book any day. I understand. Its never easy understanding where you fit in.

At the age 15 I took up GCSE Music, these lessons were fun, it sparked my passion for wanting to perform in front of others. I took up A level Musical Theatre in 6th form at the age of 17 I studied that for 2 years learning about all sorts different dance including ballet, jazz, and tap dancing. I took advantage of the facilities that I had access too in 6th form, I joined the choir and I had performed in many School plays and concerts, I loved dressing in different costumes and becoming other characters playing with different accents. I Passed my GCSE Music class with a C and got distinctions in my A level Music Theatre.

After leaving 6th form I joined a company called NMTC (Newcastle Musical Theatre Company) I highly recommend if you loved to perform like I do. I was with these for 2 years, while I was with this company I played an extra in the sound of music playing various roles including a villager and an Axis Soldier this was fun. The Following year I got my first chance to got my first supporting role playing one of the T-Birds (doody) this was amazing, id learned choreography, songs, and scripts for the Part. One of the best experiences about being with NMTC was being able to perform on the Newcastle Theatre royal stage in front of 3 sold out shows.

I decided to leave NMTC after this show, to focus on what I am going to do with my life. I went through phases of different potential jobs such as retail as well as a bowling alley, working on the bar, kitchen and even mechanic, but I was still drawn to going to getting dressed up and going comic conventions, I was even an actor at Scream factory in Redcar one year. I figured I could turn my passion for dressing up to make people happy and then came my idea of Ellis Events. My initial idea was acquire costumes and sell myself as a performer however I feel entertainment is more than that so I am always trying to expand the services and entertainment I provide.

Only recently in 2020 I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, so my dressing up and performance has slowed but it hasn't stopped my passion for wanting to continue and push myself as much as I can to keep people happy. I feel in life we get challenges and this is the card that I've been dealt with, we only get one life, I choose happiness to keep myself happy and others too.

Thank you for taking the time to read my biography, hopefully this gives you and idea of the kind of person I am and hopefully I will see you in the future.
